There are a number of reasons that could cause a share on Instagram to fail.


You can see if Instagram has failed by looking at the Activity->Sharing menu item. 


If you see an Error, hover your mouse over the word 'Error' and you may get an indication of why the share failed:



Shared Too Much

There is a limit of 10 shares per rolling 24 hour period. 

After this Instagram temporarily blocks you from sharing anything else. 

You just need to wait for Instagram to lift the restriction which will happen with the 24 hours.


Too Many Hashtags

If you use more than 30 hashtags, the share will fail. 


There are several areas in the Trev Dashboard where you can add hashtags; 


The rule of thumb is to use approx. 10 hashtags in your Social Tile Footer.



This way if the social tile from the Media Library has more than 10 hashtags, the combination of hashtags will generally not exceed 30.



Tile is the wrong size

You need to make your tiles 1080x1080 in pixels. 

If you make the tile too small, or if it's too tall or wide, social tile sharing might fail.


Not an Instagram business account

In order to share to Instagram, you must have a professional account. 

Change your account to professional, you can see the instructions here:



The Real Estate Voice app does not have the required permissions

Sometimes the permissions for the app get changed, and need to be re-enabled.


If you see this error, then check your permissions:



Checking your permissions

The easiest way is to disconnect and re-connect Facebook.  To do this:

  • Go to Settings -> Connect and click on the Disconnect Meta button.
  • Then click on the Connect Meta button to reconnect.


When you reconnect, you will see a message pop up something similar to the below:



  • Click Edit Settings. 

           - Make sure you have the Instagram accounts you wish to share to are checked

           - Click Next




        - Make sure you have the Facebook pages you wish to share to are checked

        - Click Next



  • Make sure all of the permissions are turned on at the next step.
  • If you turn any off or if some of these are already switched off, sharing may not work.
  • Click DONE
